Puppy pictures!

Surprise, surprise, nothing like being so tardy in posting that it's almost tacky, lol. But then that wouldn't be me. :p

Puppy update: We were finally able to bring her home on August 6, all 3.4 pounds of her--she was really tiny--and she was almost 9 weeks old, lol! But that didn't last long, she's adding about a pound a week now; she's such a chowhound--as corgis are--but no worries, I always monitor her food intake as corgis can get heavy really easily--they love to eat!

We ended up naming her Zoe (I really liked Kitsune, but my husband wasn't going for the japanese names ^^;;). She's a tazmanian devil at heart (think old Bugs Bunny cartoons when Taz would cut right through tree trunks), running twisters throughout the house, getting into everything that she can. She torments the cat, but Kitty is doing so incredibly well in tolerating her, and is getting her fair share of torture in (while Zoe hasn't learned her place in the pack yet, Kitty has, and abuses it endlessly). For a 12 year old cat, she sure enjoys putting Zoe in her place. ^_^ But it's a love/hate relationship. I know in a couple months they're going to be lounge buddies.

I've always been a cat person, this is my first dog and boy do they wear you out quick. You definitely have to be on your toes with her. But she's my girl. :3

But enough talk:

Priorities...
last modified: Friday, July 21, 2006 (2:12:14 PM CST)
This one's been a long time coming, but has been hard to put into words. Not to mention my head's swimming in all directions. It's funny how one event can put everything in your life in it's place. A Sunday night, after a long and crazy weekend, getting ready for bed and hearing that phone ring at 11:30pm. In our house, that's usually not a good sign. It's happened many times before as my husband's father is in delicate health. It's always a scary thought. But this time, it was my own mother, two hours away. She has MS, but has never had any real health concerns. I'd rather not get into the details, but it was very serious. After leaving for my hometown and spending several days by her bedside in the ICU, without any improvements, no signs of conciousness, and doctors' not having any clue to what happened, things were looking incredibly grim. But for what seemed to be a year's worth of prayers (in actuality it was a week), they were answered. She woke up, could breathe on her own and was back to her stubborn (but loving) self, eager to get home. What should've been some pretty major brain damage, there was none, what should've been a weak heart was strong. Doctor's simply could not explain what happened. All that I can believe that it was our faith, a miracle. Finally, what should've been several weeks of hospitalization came to a total of a week and a half.

I'm thankful everyday that what could've been a tragedy became something wonderous. But it makes you vulnerable and realize the true price (or pricelessness) of life. Cels, pullips, websites, uploads, whatever, they can be fun, but they're not important. Anyway, the moral of the story is to live your life with your loved one's to the fullest--and never stop believing.

But I must thank my father, brother, other family, friends, and everyone online who knows what we've been going through. It's been super tough and a strain for our family and it's so sweet to know that we have the support of each other and those that I'm so thankful to have gotten to know. And to my husband (though he won't read this), a special thanks for putting up with all of my crap through the ordeal.

So because of which, an upload that's 6 months overdue will stay that way a little longer. In addition, I haven't really made any purchases in a long while, due to everything that's going on, along with some of life's expenses. But many many thanks to my best cel bud Gabe, along with another dear friend in Japan (I'll keep her nameless for now ^_^) for being so incredibly sweet to pick up two huge wishes of mine, that would've otherwise been passed by. Love you guys! :3

Finally, as I'm sure many of you are waiting for an update on... ^_^ Puppies! My little girl was born on June 5th, and I cannot WAIT to bring her home in two weeks (I'll be picking her up on August 5th). Heh, and I think Kitty knows what's happening as she's checking out and already tested the crate and toys that are here. ^^;; In the meantime, I *still* need a name (we're thinking maybe Foxxie or Zoe). But let me know what you think, or feel free to pass one along if you have a good one in mind. ^_^
